Wow, today was a butt kicker. Boot camp started at 6:15am. Not quite as hard as Monday, but no walk in the park. Sprints dragging a weight, fireman carry, and rope pull to name just a few.

We got back around 8am. Breakfast was a egg white omelet with veggies and refried beans. Not bad at all.

At 9am we headed out to snowshoe on a well-groomed trail that didn't have too bad of an elevation gain. Yvonne and I rocked it to the top. It was SUPER fun.

The rest of the day was all pain and suffering. One hour of interval training, one hour of weight training, one hour of fitness class (kettle bells, lunges, etc.) and one hour of hard cardio (sprints, spinning, high incline treadmill...).

We then crawled to dinner (Mexican chicken and vegetables). I finished up the night with a soak in the hot tub and a long hot shower. Early to bed for some light reading. Good night!
Monday afternoon consisted of a small lunch of chicken and brown rice, then it off to bootcamp at a recreational facility about 15 minutes from where we are staying (Hotel Park City). Warmup was a light jog of 6 laps on the indoor track, then a grueling 1.5 hours of hard workout that was 3 sets of 30 second weight training with 30 seconds of hard cardio (mountain climbers, burpees, sprints..) Between sets.

After bootcamp it was back to the hotel for a snack of apple and string cheese, then off to the gym for weight training for biceps, triceps, chest and core.

We were pretty much zonked after this. Time for a shower before dinner, which was a chinese chicken salad. A supplement class where everyone kept yawning, then back to the cabin for bed.

A long, exhausting, successful day!

This morning's workout:

20 mins each elliptical, bike and treadmill with hill program for each.

Then 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off for 8 reps of: kttle bell throws, punches, burpees, wall squats with bicep curls, jumping jacks with shoulder presses and step jumps. 2 minute rest between exercises. So far so good!

About a 30 minute van ride from the airport. Not as much snow as I thought there would be, but lots on the mountains. We passed a big cross-country ski trail, and the Olympic ski jump and luge run on the way.

The hotel is incredible, just what you would imagine a ski resort to look like. The room is nice as well with its own little kitchen, washer/dryer and fireplace.

We unpacked, went on a quick tour of the facilities. There are 11 in our group with a wide range of reasons that brought them to a fitness camp. We all had dinner of salad, steamed broccoli and roasted chicken breast. No dessert! Then Yvonne and I hit the eucalyptus steam room. Met with doctor for a quick check in to make sure I'm up for the grueling workouts that start tomorrow.

Now I need to find the Seahawk game on TV and call Tom. Have to be at orientation at 5:30 am tommorow, so it will be an early night.

Landed in Salt Lake City. Beautiful snow and mountains. Bright sunshine but only 21 degrees.
Arrived at Seatac. Through security in record time. Flight is on time so far, leaving at 10:20 am.
